About the Event

"'Meditation Therapy' is probably the most important of all healing therapies because it can remove suffering and ignorance completely from the whole of our lives" ~ David Frawley.

Meditation gifts us a new lease on life ~ a youthfulness, happiness and balance that is otherwise difficult to attain. It gives us access to our inner soma ~ a life-giving nectar. The essence of universal peace, ānanda (bliss) and joy. It's the heart of the Yogic way and so much more important to grasp than being able to stand on your head.  It gives us the groundwork for creating a healthful and balanced life. It is the answer to just about everything ~ and I don't say that lightly.

Regular meditation practice can:

- Help us to manage stress, anxiety and depression

- Gives us more energy, greater capacity to think and problem solve

- Improve our gut health and immune system

- Give us emotional resilience

- Strengthen and improve our relationships

In these 4 weeks we will learn the foundations of establishing your own, long-lasting meditation practice without the need for any apps or guided meditation tracks. This is about uncovering and overcoming. Learning to move past the unrelenting thought waves so that you can really experience the fruits of this practice. Uncover your inner willingness to commit to this life-changing practice so that motivation can come naturally.

The best way to find a practice that works is to explore many time-tested methods whilst also exploring the depths of each practice. These 4 weeks will enable you to grasp a thorough understanding of meditation through the lense of many traditions such as Buddhist Walking Medtation, Zazen Meditation and Tantrik energy and awareness practices. The difference between each technique is subtle as they all work towards the same goal. The slight adjustment in each practice will allow us to gain a well-rounded view on meditation and how we can personally attain it within our own being by removing the overwhelm.

Week 1: Opening Circle

              A conscious discussion on "What is Meditation" (includes printouts)

              Common Challenges and Overcoming Them

              45 minutes of Meditation ~ Seated Meditation, Walking Meditation, Seated Meditation, Metta Bhavana 

              A take-home practice

Week 2:  Mindfulness Meditations - an introduction and a look at the difference

              Somatic Awareness Meditation

              Tattva-Bhavana - A Tantrik Practice

              Yoga Nidra

              A take-home practice

Week 3:  Mantra Meditation (Transcendental Meditation) ~ what is mantra, how to pronounce it and the benefits

               Vipassanā

               Zazen Meditation/Walking Meditation alternation

Week 4: Tantrik energy practices - strengthening the central channel

              Mudra Practice - learning some basic hand gestures and how we can use them to manipulate our meditational energy

              Closing Circle ~ conscious discussion, shared space and tea.
